I called INS almost 15th time today in the past 3 months. To my surprise I was told that my finger prints are being reviewed. I do not know what that means. The previous times I called the INS they told me that they have recieved my FP. Now this IIO told me that the FP has to be reviiewed then my photo will be scanned and then an Officer will be assignetd to the case. I asked her as to how much time this FP review will take ... she said 30 to 40 days. I asked her if there was any problem in my case ... She said your case is very clean and it is normal that these things happen because we recv 1000\'s of thousands of FP every day and each case has to be moved with a file etc.... All BS. Not a single statement made sense to me... What is the point in having ND\'s and PD\'s if it is so random????? My PD has been current for almost 6 months now....

My case details
Category : EB3
PD 7/97
ND 8/99
FP 9/00

To all the guru\'s there... Does anybody know what she is talking about ...... Please help explaining this situatiuon. Looks like this GC processing is going to haunt me until the end.

Thanks

Hi Sribhami;

If i remember correctly, u said one day u r case assigned to officer on March28,01. Same thing i was told last friday my case assigned to officer on March28, 01. IIO told me may be my file is still sitting in the record room but computer shows it moved to Work Area. I think this is whats happening to the old cases. U should talk to u r lawyer and ask for inquiry?

PD 12/97
ND 08/99
FP 07/00
EB3 still waiting

Did any of you get RFE ? I thought if you have received RFE
that means case already been asigned to officer, and
generally you should get the approval within 2-3 weeks.

Is my understanding is not correct ?

Verba volant, scripta manent.

Have your lawyer fax an inquiry. You are wasting your time and energy on the phone. Just my opinion.

Good luck!

Last week the IIO also suggested that we fax an inquiry... but somehow my lawyer is not doing it. I have asked him to do it a couple of times in the past week ... but they have just been putting it off. can I fax to the INS myself ????

Help! Does somebody know what “under investigation” mean?

I was just back from INS local office. After the long 5-hour’s waiting, I got the answer that my case is under investigation since 4/19. What does it exactly mean? My case is kind of complicated: my I-140 is done in Texas Center (TSC) since I am living in Georgia. Then the company’s policy changed and asked all the applications to be filed in company’s headquarter service center which is California Center (CSC). Is this a problem? The IIO I talked to has no idea what the investigation for and how long it will take. Anybody in the same boat please share the experience. Any comments? Ideas?
