I have not applied for an EAD along with I485 application. Now I would like to apply for one just to be on the safer side.

How do I go about applying for an EAD? What documents are required? Is it recommended to go to local INS for EAD or it should be sent to Vermont service center? How long does it take to get EAD in either case? I overheard that local INS are not issuing EAD, is this correct???


Please help!! I checked other posting but couldn't find all the answers. Thanks in advance.....
