Hi,

I applied I-131, I-130, and I-485 for my parents around Dec 2005. I-131 were approved around Feb 2006. However, the FP letters never arrive :( . Today, I receive the interview notice for both my parents on Mid May 2006. What a pleasant surprise :D ! Should I start to worry about not getting the FP letters ? What should I do in order to get GC by the time we go to the interview?

This happens quite often, so don’t worry. I also got the interview letter before the FP, but at the end the appointments where in the logical order (FP fist) I’ve also read in these forums that if you don’t get the FP before the interview, they do it the same day at the same office as your interview. Good luck!

Welcome to the club. There are a few cases here in the forum, who got interview notice before FP notice, particularly the parents cases - don't quite understand why this is happening.

If you don't have your FPs taken before interview, then the Interviewing officer will most likely schedule a FP appt at that time. It may/ may not be immediate. Once the FP is done, then they will wait for the name check results. Finally, the approval.

FP after interview is guaranteed to delay approval of 485. If you are concerned about the delay, I would suggest that you make an InfoPass appointment at the DO right away and explain to the officer that you got IL before FP notice and you would like them to schedule a FP appt ASAP.
You can make an InfoPass appt here:

Please let us know if there are any updates.

P.S: How did you know your parents I-130 was approved?
