HELP - Form I-765 was rejected by USCIS due to a payment failure.

On April 2, 2025, my OPT application (Form I-765) was rejected by USCIS due to a payment failure. The case status says a rejection notice was mailed and that I should receive it by May 2, but I still haven’t gotten anything. I’ve talked to a few others in the same situation and many of them also haven’t received the letter — even 30+ days later.

I spoke with my DSO, and they said they need that rejection notice (or at least solid proof) in order to cancel the current OPT request in SEVIS and issue a new I-20 so I can reapply.

Here’s the catch — I have an internship starting June 1, and I’m planning to reapply with premium processing as soon as possible (ideally by May 3). I already have a screenshot of my USCIS case status showing the rejection, but I’m not sure if that alone is enough for the DSO to take action.

I’m scared and confused. Has anyone successfully gotten a new I-20 issued without the mailed rejection notice? Any tips on how to move things along faster with USCIS or your school?
