My H-1B visa will be expiring in 4 months. I have not filed AP when I filed my 485. Now, I am planning to file myself (first time - lawyer charges heavily for 4 of my family members). Appreciate, if some one clears my doubts.
1. What are the pros and cons of e-filing?
2. I do not know my indented departure date. I am applying for any emergency trip, if any. Can I mention “Do not know now” in the application form?
3. What should I write for expected length of stay, which I do not know now?
4. Can I mention “unexpected trip to home country for family meeting and some business travel out side USA” for the purpose of trip?
5. Can I make so many numbers of trips using the same AP form? Do I require to hold separate AP document for each trip. In this case, am I required to mention the number of trips, in the application form? I do not know how many numbers of trips I will make. Further, I may be frequently traveling to Mexico from CA (work related), that I may not know now.
6. I heard AP is valid for only one year. If I apply now, can I request the USCIS that the start dates of AP is the expiry date of my H1B? So that I can save 3 or 4 months time.
Thanks!
