Help! Firtst time to use AP

Please, help on this.

1. I have both valid H-1B and AP. I wonder which one I have to use.
2. How to use AP?

Do you have valid H-1B stamp in your passport?
Have you ever worked on EAD?

1. If u have used EAD, u need to use AP while entering US.
2. If u are maintinaing ur visa status ( not used EAD ) - then u can use either AP or H1 ( u should have valid stamp H in ur passport).
3. U will have a secondary inspection if u use AP - u just have to show the AP approval notice. Keep in hand a copy of ur 485 receipt notice and show it when asked.

Should I go to the secondary inspection directly? or line up on visitor's line to be directed to the secondary inspection?

Hi,

U have to stand in the visitor's line. The officer will then direct U to INS secondary which is in a seperate section.

Its pretty simple so nothing to worry.

I'd like to use AP for the first time, but would like to retain my H1-status (7th year ext). I do not have a valid stamp (infact my passport has an expired H4 (1999), and later I got H1-B(1999) and has now applied for 7th year ext), would it cause any problems in using AP? In other words to use AP do you need to have a valid stamp in the passport?

U dont need a valid stamp in ur passport to use AP.
( U either need a valid stamp OR advance parole to enter US - both are not mandatory )

You can stand in Citizen line. When I came back one year ago, one of officers told me to wait that line.
