I\'m asking this for a friend. His I-485 is pending (RD:Feb, 01). He put down his summer internship in his application and now INS is asking him to provide documentation that he had worked with authorization. He does not have any record. His school does not keep record that goes far back that much. He has 30 days to reply, otherwise, his case can be rejected and he may be sent back to his own country. One lawyer suggested that he could pay a penalty of $1000 and move on with the case. Anybody has any information on this, please help!
