HELP! Do we have 72 hrs grace peroid to leave the country after I-94 expires

Here is a situation friend of mine has. His company is getting him a flight ticket which is past his I-94 expiry date. The company says it is acceptable to leave the country within 72 hrs. after I-94 expiry. How far is this true. Is my friend in trouble? Appreciate any answers...
 
How long to waite for H1 transfer

Current employer applied for H1 transfer in Oct\'01. Got Receipt in Nov\'01. INS asked for additional document in Jan\'02. Now again asking for some other document. How long this process will continue? Is my H1 status is valid? Need experts advice. Pl respond. Is there any time limit for H1 processing?
