Help: Department being sold during I-485

All,
My department will be sold to a new Company B in eariler 2003. I-140 has been approved and I filed I-485 in Oct, 2002 and got the EAD too. The lawyer in my current company said the new company B will be considered the successor-in-interest to my current company, so I should be able to continue my GC process without interruption.
I have a few questions and I appreciate it if anyone can shed some light:

1. Does the new company have to file a new H-1B for me?
2. Does the new company have to file an amended I-140 for me?
3. Will an amended I-140 cause the delay of my I-485 processing? I.e. the INS will issue RFEs etc.
4. What about if the new company and I do nothing now, can I still get 485 approved?

Thanks in advance.

1. If you plan to be on H visa, not necessary
2. Yes, if you plan to be on H visa
3. yes
4. Join new company using EAD, then you can claim AC21 and possibly get I485 approved. A RFE is possible, but is cheaper and less hassle.
