HELP!!! contract ending after 27 days of 485 petition approval HELP

Gurus,
We got approved on the 1st of this month and have gotten our passports stamped.

My current contract is ending on the 27th of July.

My current employer:
1. Does not have a lot of openings,
2. Has asked me "verbally" to look for other opportunities
3. They will stop paying me on the 27th -> no bench pay

my Questions are:
1. Can this adversly affect my Green Card petition and or eventual citizenship petition
2. Can my compnay harm me if I leave for better opportunities
3. Can my company force me to accpet a contract that
a- is not what I want to do
b- is not of the same pay scale
c- is not in a comutable radius

Dont worry you are in great shape. Just ensure you get a letter from employer stating layoff/fire. All you have to do is worry about getting a job.

You are safe!!!
Try to get a job as soon as possible. You dont need to worry about INS or H1b and all those crap anymore!!! Worst case you can even work in McDonalds(sorry it wont happen) Best of luck!!!
