HELP: Can I use this H4 visa stamp back to USA from China?

I changed my status from F2 to H4 last month (got a new I-94 card). I went to Toronto last week try to get a H4 visa stamp allow me return to USA from China. The visa officer issued the visa but warned me the visa can be only used return to USA from Canada. When I\'m back to the US, the boarder police does not notice the new visa stamp and just checked my I-94 card. I compared my visa stamp with my friend\'s visa stamp (H1B) (he also got the visa stamp from Toronto and will use that return to USA from China), mine has only 1 entries but his has 2 entries on the stamp. I want to know if I can still use this visa stamp return to USA from China. Your help is very much appreciated.

Look for M for multile entry in the stamp...

You need a M indicating Multiple entries allowed to reenter US after foreign travel. From the officer\'s remarks it seems like you can only use it once to enter US (I94 takes care of that, from canada they don\'t really look at the visa). SO you need to get a new stamp during your visit to china.

Thanks for your replying. But since I didn\'t use that entry on the visa, why I can not use that re-enter US from China? Also, is there anybody can tell me if there is a reason my H4 visa only has 1 entry but my friend\'s H1B visa has 2 entries?

Thanks

One already used...

By entering from canada you used up one. Just because they did not see the stamp, does not mean you did not use it up.
You have to ask for multiple entry visa explicitly in your cover letter, by default they give single entry only.
