I’m from New York . When I got married I never changed my social security, drivers, and etc last name. I went to biometric appointment and the biometric lady said she don’t understand why my lawyer used my husband last name on the application my name was never legally changed. I called my lawyer, my lawyer said it is no issue . When it came to my biometric and time for sign . I signed my maiden name . Is that a problem? Should I be worried? I would love to have my husband last name. It is both of our first marriage and we don’t really have married friends around. So I don’t know how can I go about so . Is it too late ?

Until you legally change your name through the civil court, your maiden name stays. You cannot use your husband's last name on legal forms until the name is legally changed. The lawyer saying no issue appears to be wrong.

What is your current status, and what are you applying for?

Temporary protected status , applying for green card

And on what basis did catholic immigration services use a married name when you never changed your social security, drivers, and etc last name?

Did you know of married name on the forms when you signed them under penalty of perjury?

I jus gaved her my marriage certificate that’s all. She said she going to use my marriage name. I told her I don’t think I ever legally change my name . She said they will change it . And use my marriage name on my documents.

They had done all my paperwork for temporary status. What do I need to do ? To fix this. ? Should I consult with another lawyer

The marriage certificate should work I think.

You should take the MC to update the license, SSN, passport that reflect the new name.
