I entered US on B1/B2 for an urgent short visit to my wife who was already here on J1. Now situation demands me to go back home for a while and come to US again and stay here longer and study/ work in future.
Should I apply for change of status with USCIS from B1/B2 to J2 before going. Or should I go back to my country and apply for J2. Which of these two or any other option is better/ safer. I can't hire a lawyer please help. What is ECFMG & EAD. Please guide.
