Help - am I qualified to apply for citizenship?

I have got my green card for 4.5 years. During this period, I first stayed in the US for 2.5 years (barely) and then moved back to China to work/live. I always report tax and enter the US every 6 months. Also I kept US address.

Now it's getting close to the time I can apply for citizenship. Will I have any trouble? Would they say I don't live there and disqualify me? Last time I entered SF and immigration officer put "out for 5 months" on my passport and input that in the computer.

Thanks a lot for your advise!!

Pls help on my citizenship

JoeF,

Thanks for the message. I have been a resident of Texas since 1995. I am not just traveling to the US. I live there (sort of) and is working for an American company in China.

Do you know my chance of getting my citizenship approved? Thanks again!!

I agree

Joe,

thanks again and I believe you are right. Then my question is "what is the chance of INS not digging into all those deatails (e.g. whether my stay aboard is temporary or permanent) and let me pass for citizenship application??" I will apply anyway and I feel there is some chance, but I don't know if it's 80% success rate or 10%...

Appreciate your inputs!

Allen
