Hello, there,

I filed my I485 and I140 concurrently on Dec 2002. The I-140 got approved last July. So far no update about I485 yet. I have send out a letter to the FBI about the name check. Surprisingly it did not take too long before I got this reply letter. It says like this:

------------------
A search of the automated indices to the central recordes system files maintained at FBI Headquarters located no records responsive to your FOIPA (Freedom of Information-Privacy Acts) request.

Although no records responsive to your FOIPA request were located, we are required to inform you that you are entitled to file an administrative appeal if you so desire. Appeals should be directed in writing to the Co-Deirector within 60 days from the date of this letter.
-------------------

I am not sure what does this mean? Does it mean that my name check is clear or that BCIS did not send out the name check request?

Anyone has experience on this matter, I'd really appreciate your opinion.

Thanks in advance.

It looks like uscis hasn't adjuciate ur case yet. U might contact ur local house of representative or senator about this. Also talk to ur attorney. Just ask them to contact uscis laison what the status of ur case is. What is ur priorty date?

USGC485,

Thanks for the reply. But I am afraid I donot understand what exactly did you mean by that. Did you mean that FBI have not started the name check yet?

I did ask our house representative about this matter. The reponse from the BCIS said the security check has not finished from FBI. Besides the finger printers and name check, what else is in security check?

Thanks.

Hammerwin the message you have posted is a result of the FOIPA request that you must have sent.
This does not indicate that your name check is complete. To check if your name check is complete you must send an email to the FBI to check on the status of your name check.
The email address is fbinncp@ic.fbi.gov send your full name, DOB, place of birth, A#, Address, email address and phone number.
