help, 485 filing question

Somebody please help?
My I-140 was just approved. My I485 based on my husband's employment has been pending for a year. Can I go ahead file another I485 based on my I-140? Thanks. :confused:

Is it necessary?

What is the point in applying again. Anyway, you will be later in the queue. In case there is a need to transfer I-485 to you as primary applicant, that can be done any time.

Quite a few couples that I know filed two I-485s, one as primary and one as dependent and as soon as one got approved withdrew the other one. A few diversified--one opting for CP and one for AOS, in order to reap the benefits of the earlier approval. Also, if one is denied for any reason, the other one is alive and may be approved.
