Man, I wish I had found this web site a long time ago. I spent numerous hours looking for the right info and I'm still not sure if I have all the right info. Ok, so I'm a US citizen and my wife is currently in the US with a F-1 visa status. I'm trying to get her a GC. From what I understand these are the forms I need to file:

I-485: Status adjustment
G-325A: Biographic data sheet
I-693: Medical examination sheet
I-864: Affidavit of support
I-765: Authorization for employment

Do I need to file an I-130 as well? Or due to my citizenship and her already being in the country can we skip that form?

Also, do I file all of these at the same time or do I have to follow an order of filing?

Also, If I'm missing any forms that I need to file, please let me know the number.

I want to thank you all in advance and I apologize if some of my questions are dumb..... Thank you.

Dan.

You also need the supplement to I-693, this is for the vaccinations that need to be done.Heres the link for it.

Also heres a link listing vaccinations needed by age. Some she will not need

Aaahhh ok........ So once we file an I-130 and receive confirmation of a visa number then I file the list of forms starting with the I-485..... Ok, that makes more sense. I wish the USCIS web page was more user friendly and explained things in detail.

Thanks Grunggy.

dan h,
Since you are a US Citizen, you need to file I130 along with all other forms (I485, I864 etc.) You don't need to wait for a visa number. It is always current to a spouse of a US Citizen.

Thats correct about the visa number.

Who is Eligible?
People who want to become immigrants are divided into categories based on a preference system. The immediate relatives of U.S. citizens, which includes parents, spouses and unmarried children under the age of 21, do not have to wait for an immigrant visa number to become available once the application filed for them is approved by the USCIS. An immigrant visa number will be immediately available for immediate relatives of U.S. citizens.

Also from www.usvisanews.com
Marriage to a U.S. citizen allows for an I-130 to be filed in the immediate relative classification where visa numbers are immediately available and the beneficiary can simultaneously file an I-485 application to adjust status AND I-765 application for an EAD (which typically means issuance of an EAD in approximately 2-3 months.)

You can read more under this link.
