Hello GURUS, what is AILA??

This evening I spoke to my attorney reg my I 485 case pending for more than 500 days with INS NSC. He is sending an enquiry thro AILA.

1. WHAT IS AILA, can some one thro some lite on this.
2. Will really INS cares for AILA\'s querries?
3. How powerful is AILA
4. Why my attorney is not sending querry directly to INS?
5. Any success with AILA PL POST YOUR DETAILS !!

AILA is the American Immigration Lawyers Association:

This is both a professional union of immigration lawers and an
immigration lobbying group. They do not really handle individual immigrants\' cases, but they can probably pass a request from your lawer to the INS.
 
My case was approved Jan 7 but wifes case got RFE Jan 17

The RFE has not reached us so ic alled INS 1.5 weeks ago and they were going to resend it
Yesterday i called to confirm they had sent it again and they said nobody had told them to resend it
SO i called up the lawyer and asked him to take some action since i have done it three times
He said they will ask liason to talk to INS
I think AILA is a quicker way to get responses and action onc ases then directly writing to INS
 
I called my lawyer yesterday.... he said the same stuff.....

Will get to INS NSC thru AILA... Hope something good happens...
