:) :) :) :)
Finally the case is over. Heard via AVM that my case is approved as of July 22nd.
My details are as follows:
PD Oct 1997/EB2India-NY
RD July 5, 2001
RFE for birth Certificate issued on May 20, 2002
RFE received at INS June 1st 2002
Many calls to IIO, approximately 10-15 times in my I-485 stage.
But, my wife case not approved yet, response to the RFE was received on July 10th, 2002.
The long wait is over. Kind of very relaxed after I heard it. Made sure three times that I keyed in the right numbers.
To all, your turn is next. I understand that it is easy to say, but hang on guys.

dear friend,

i am so happy for you , that i cannot express in words.

but i am seriously worrying about your spouse's case.

it generally does not happen that way.

have fun.

Hi
Congrats.

Could you please give more details about birth certificate RFE? I submitted 2 affidavits, thats about it. Will that be enough?

thanks
fizk

Two affidavits is sufficient. Also, you might need a non-availabilty certificate. I had actually initially used certificate issued by Indian embassy in NY. This screwed me up. Later, in reply for my RFE, I submitted two affidavits and my origianal birth certificate (note-my original birth certificate did not have my name on it)

law2001,

u r very correct. A certificate from Indian Embassy in USA is totally unacceptable. I submitted mine and wife's original Hindi birth certificates with no names as usual. Lawyer got it translated in English and said this is all she needed. She didn't need an affidavit.

I hope I won't get RFE on birth certificate.
