Head Start and immigration of a relative

I have heared that I can't apply for a scholarship or grants or any type of assistance (like WIC or food stamps) if I am in the process of bringing my mom here in the US (I just got my citizenship)
I was thinking to put my child into a Head Start program for kids, it is free for low income families. And they require my SSN.
So, will it interfere with my mom's immigration? Should I pass on that Head start program?

In other words, you're asking if low income citizens can file a relative petition?
Of course they can. Only, they have to have a joint sponsor for their relative.
Your life or your child's life would not be effected by filing relative petition for your mom.

I do not think putting your child in th Head Start programm will affect your Mum's application

Cheers

Your child is the one who is receiving that benefit...let's say that even you get food stamps that has nothing to do with your mother application (althought is not a good thing to demostrate that you can support her)...is your mother should not get any food stamps or goverment aid. In any case, you must demostrate that you have enough financial support, that is the point.

You must demostrate that you can sponsor her (Affidavit of Support), if that is not the case you must get a joint sponsor.

sorry, I worded my question confusing... I ment that if I put my child into Head Start, then INS (or Visa issuer center, whoever looks at my income before they issue an approval for an immigrant visa for my mom) will refuse me to bring my mom here.

Thank you very much for your reply.
Do you guys know, what can affect my Mom's application?
If I take a scholarship or a Pellgrant, will it affect?

Thank yoiu for your reply.
So, you think I could even apply for food stamps or medic aid for my child, or WIC, while my mom is in the process of the application?
(I have signed myself the Affidavit of Support, without any co-sponsor, because I have had enough income myself)
