having a own business while GC is underprocess

My GC processing is in LC stage .I am planning to open a small time software consulting /development company on my name.
Is is allowed to do business at the same time while I am are employed ? Does it create any problems for the GC process ? Can BCIS see this activity of mine ?

WoW! I did not know that you can only be part of LLC. What difference would it make if you form a LLC or S Corporation?:confused:
