Have we done something wrong? Or, is this normal...

Hello all,

I just wanted to check and see what you all thought about this.

My timeline:

29 June 2005 (Day 1) Forms mailed to Chicago
08 July 2005 (Day 10) RD
11 July 2005 (Day 13) ND
29 July 2005 (Day 31) FP/Bio (Walk-In)

I have seen some get the EAD card within a week, some even sooner than that...so I'm worried that something is majorly wrong. My wife is getting upset that she can't work...I keep telling her to relax and not to worry, that the EAD will come soon. But I'm starting to doubt my own statements now.

Anyone else in the same boat?

It's been 5 weeks + since the FP/BIO was done...

Thanks for any and all support!

Mike & Elizabeth

It usually takes upto 90days (about 3 months)for the USCIS to process EAD from the time you mailed your package to them. So the time may vary depending on your local USCIS office processing times. Since its only been 5 weeks its probably too early to worry. After the said 90 days if you dont hear from the USCIS you should call and ask for an interim. Thats all that I know. Good luck to you.

Mike, where did you see others get the EAD within a week? Its true that you get the EAD card within a week after it is approved, but it takes atleast 30-90 days from the ND. Based on the EAD timeline table, you are slated to get your card within this week or next, (hopefully if you dont get an RFE). Keep your fingers crossed and good luck!

Well..what do you know...look what I got in the email today:

Current Status:

On September 6, 2005, after approving your application, we ordered you a new card. Your card will be mailed to you as soon as it is ready.

Maybe they were reading this thread and felt sorry for me...anyways, good news is good news.

Sorry for posting ~!

That means they are checking your case now, in a week or so you should get a new message of approved. It it's not don't worry anyway since they are not updating all the online cases so quickly but you get your card at the end.
