Have TN visa but now need TD for spouse

Hi, I have a TN visa but did't requested a TD for my husband since we live in border and just cross every day to work, and didn't have the need to move to the US to live.
I've been offered a new job and need to move to the US, I'm going to start the "change of employer" process (I-129 form), Can I request a TD now, or do I need to wait for my TN to expire and add my husband then?

You need not do either. When your husband accompanies you to the US, he can request a TD at the border based on whatever valid TN you have.

Thanks, I believe that requesting the TD visa at the border only applies for Canadian citizens, we're Mexican, Does any one knows if we can do that at the border?

-- If that is the case, submit his TD application with your I-129. Get his TD consular visa after you receive your (and his TD) approval..
