This is about my in-laws. They got naturalized in 2006 and have OCI cards/booklets from India. They also have their old canceled Indian Passports but no "Renunciation Certificate" (I don't think they had such things back in 2006).

What should they carry when traveling to India?
I'm guessing:

1. US passport with the lifetime Indian visa
2. OCI booklets

Anything else? Should they also carry the canceled Indian Passports? I don't think they have a "Renunciation Certificate" .. just old canceled Indian passports.

Thanks in advance.

alokep,
This it new rule which they started in this year, to get "Surrender Certificate" after cancelling the Indian passport. For travelling purpose you don't have to carry the cancelled passport but you need those when your in-laws try to renew the OCI in case it has an expiry date based on their age.

Thanks.

So, no need to worry about this "Surrender/Renunciation Certificate" until the current US passport expires and/or the OCI expires..?
