Hi:
I applied for I485/EAD/AP last week of July and got me receipt end of September. I have yet to get my EAD card and AP. I am working for a consulting company and the client I am working with wants me to join them ASAP. My consulting company is saying that they will keep the 485 application going and it would be easier for me to shift as soon as EAD comes through. My client company lawyers are ok with me using EAD and also are ready to do the H1 transfer if needed. I have to start at the client company on 29th. Is it possible for me to get my EAD before that?? Any suggestions would help.. Thanks
 
Verify before your company tranfer.

Sometimes you get interim EAD from your local INS if you show them your I-485 receipt.
Try contacting them. If they deny you have to wait until the original EAD comes.
In that case you may transfer your H1.
Also If you have just applied your I-485 and you are changing your company before 6 months
it may be risky. Verify with your and other lawyers about the actual procedure.
