I filed my I-140 and I-485 concurrent processing in July 1, 2004. My I-140 was approved on October 7 and for 485 there was an RFE related to birth certificate for me and my wife. Subsequently on Nov 15 we replied to the RFEs by sending the birth certificate for my wife and for me we issued a letter from a municipal authority stating that birth certificate record is not available for me. On Nov 17th the status reflected that they recd. our RFC docs and processing has resumed ... On Nov 24th I got a approval notice for my son and for my case and my wife case though the LUD changed on that day, but there was no change in the status message. And again on Dec 3 I got a letter from a Director saying that my I-131 and I-765 have been denied because my 485 is already approved. So I am a bit confused as some part of their system is saying my 485 is approved but some other part is saying mine is not approved. So I want some one to help me understand of this situation as I am confused whetehr I have yo go for the stamping for my son alone ?

To my knowledge, u dont hv to worry. it looks like your case has been approved and u should get the notice soon. meanwhile, call the customer service or emergency line and check.

COngrats..You are approved...

Can you Please let everyone know if you are EB2 or EB3 ??

Thanks

Thanks folks for encouraging responses. But I am still skeptical and I also fear that mine and my wife's case will die electronically! Bcos some part of the system says its approved while the others says its still pending. And until I get an approval notice, anything can happen.

Anyways mine is a substituted labour application and my I-140 was filed under EB2 category.

This means, your case has been approved.

Mine also I got a denial letter for the AP after the 485 was approved.

Hi Nathan
Can you please tell me what is this emergency number you are talking about ? I called the general i-800 number and it was very confusing for the rep and so she transferred me to an immigration officer and he was a big help! He scared me by saying that even though my son's 485 case is approved, his 485 can be revoked if my case is denied !!! Instead of talking positive he was utterly negative. He could not answer why my i-765 and i-131 was rejected on the grounds that my 485 is approved. He was saying that his system is saying that my case is still pending. Looks like there are multiple systems here and they are NOT talking to each other [properly.

Anyways I want to try this emergency number and see what answer I will get from them.

Raman,

try one of these numbers: 949-389-3007 / 949-389 3252. some live person will pick the phone. talk to them nicely.. they will answer you.

they might ask u, why r u calling this number, tell them, i feel my case is emergency,as your son is approved and your 765 and 131 is rejected saying your 485 is approved, but never received any notice ... so whats going on?

good luck to u!

this is my view...not a suggestion!

Thanks Nathan.

I did speak to that emergency number sharply at 9.00 AM and first I was very happy to know that mine and my wife's case is approved but he is not able to tell me why an approval notice cannot be sent to us. He told that he has requested our files again and got all the contact numbers of us and he also asked me to verify my address which was current.

Somehow I have a suspicion that these people dont know the procedures yet because he was always talking about the card ordering when I have to tell him that I havent even got an approval notice yet. Finally he said that for some reason the case staus online has never been updated at least my case concerned.

Finally he said NOT to contact this number again for the next 30 days.

Congratulations!

Same thing had happened with me. In my case they just didn't send me approval notice and never tell me why. Finally my lawyer called them and they agreed to send duplicate notice. BTW the duplicate notice is as good as original one. You can get passport stamped as well.

I-551 stamping experience in SFO

Well the appointed day came for getting the I-551 stamp on my son's passport today. Our appointment time was 10.15 AM at the San Francisco USCIS office. There was a lady at the counter who gave us a number only after seeing the infopass appointment reciept and the approval notice of my son. But she was totally listless and unfriendly, though I guess she herself is an immigrant once upon a time. But the actual experience with the officer was a very pleasant and friendly one. First we showed our son's approval notice, and passport and she took away the I-94s and then stamped the magic I-551 on his passport. I took this opportunity to give mine and my wife's I-485 case number and after entring it into her terminal she told us that we were approved too and so she asked us if we had brought our passports and photographs and then we showed her everything and we also got our I-551 stamping on our passport.

This shows that even though you dont have an approval notice and if the officer's terminal says its approved no matter what you would get the stamping.

Anyways I am glad that I fixed this appointment, otherwise I would be foolishly waiting for my I-485 approval notices to arrive which could have taken all the eternity.

This is the best new year gift I have got in my life, its like winning a 32 million lotto. I sincerely wish and pray that, those who have filed long time back and still awaiting their destiny, those all folks should get approved and be free birds in the nearest possible future.

My journey was a bed of roses and was complete in 4 months as I filed I-140/I-485 in July 1st after a labour substitution. I thank the Almighty and the great Destiny for that.

God bless you all and wish you all a happy and prosperous new year.
