has processing slowed? No aug interviews??

Hi,

I have been observing(esp newark) a few days. I do not see any august interviews yet. Is this a seasonal slowdown(some say due to H1B processing) or some other reason?

I wouldn't be surprised. Several factors could be at play:
1. Interviewing IOs taking summer vacations.
2. Mad dash to beat the impending fee increases have increased the load.
3. N-400 applications have been increasing faster than processing for the past few months.
... and on, and on, and on...

Talking about seasonal, I don't remember specifically about N-400, but I think September is end of fiscal year and USCIS usually stops things in order to take an inventory. I don't know how is Newark, but it can't be worse than San Jose, so hang on there and the interview will eventually materialize.
