Has anyone rescheduled FP ?

Will there be a problem if we reschedule th FP ?

Hi

I heard that it is not recomended to reschedule..it will delay your GC process and sometimes they dont get reschedule request due to some reasons and will deny your 485....

I think going earlier is not an issue and going late the only problem will be that you don't know what date you will get. Having said that it depends on the center also. Busy centers like NJ or NY may have a greater delay IMHO.

One of my acquaintance had a similar experience.

He had postponed his FP date and waited for 11 months to get a new/later date.

I would strongly suggest against postponing the date.

How many days you want to reschedule. You can go to local office tell them that you will not to be able to that date ask for reschedule.
They will do the reschedule if the request is for less then 90 days.

Even we did our FP almost after two months of the scheduled date. We did not reschedule it but went on Wednesday did the finger printing without any questions. It was in December 2002.

Here is the scenario,

My 485 staus was updated yesterday stating that notice for finger print was sent etc..etc.

I came to Houston to work on a short term project ( 2 months) which will be over by 31st Aug. I told my friend to check my mail box yesterday , he called me and said your finger print notice is here dated (17 Aug) on the envelope. ( Scheduled to be on INS office on 09/01/2004).

Anyway...I have decided to fly to denver and do my Fp .

You can do FP at Houston itself. There should not be any problems. You can tell them you are temp project for two months.
