Has anyone not corrected a typo on their GC?

Hi,

I received my GC seven years ago with a single letter added to my last name.
When I wanted to correct the card the officer told me not to bother since it could take forever to receive a new card.

So all my documents (SSC, DL) show the new name, I even added it to my european passport.

Recently I' ve been wondering if this could cause some confusion when I renew my GC in 3 years...has anyone done the same and decided not to correct a typo?
