Has anyone got I140 approved for CP, but filed I485?

My I140 was approved way back in April 2000 for CP.
NVC created a case# for Madras Consulate and I also received
Pocket III. However, I could not go to Madras for visa.

I filed I485 in Nebrasca Service Center in Dec 2000. My case
is not yet approved.

Now, in this situcation will NSC ask the I140 file from NVC or Madras?
How long it takes for NVC to send the I140 file to NSC?

I apprciate any form of answer.
My case: NSC, EB3, PD 2/1997, I485 RD 12/2000, waiting...

Related Q: how to switch from CP to AOS while I-140 still pending?

Gurus,

I just had the I-140 filed with subsequent CP. I have to switch to AOS.
Is there any way/procedure to notify the INS of my decision while the I-140 is still pending and avoid transferring of my approved case to the NVC?
Or alternatively, can I notify the NVC once a case# is assigned so they do not send my case to a Consulate abroad?
