HI all,
I have an 1st Finger Printing appointment at Portland, Oregon INS office on 06/22/2004. Has anybody done FP @ this location before?, if so, could you guys let me know your experience at this location ???

Thanks

I had done mine in Feb 2003. Quite some time has elapsed, so my recollection is a bit hazy.
Me and my wife were at the ASC at the time mentioned in the FP notice. (It was around noon, I think). We were let in after a brief check of identification and check of our hands (probably to make sure the hands were “printable”).
Were asked to fill out some forms. After handing in the forms, we were called up for prints. The technician took the prints, some times repeated them to get prints to his satisfaction., The technician consulted another employee and they reviewed the prints and agreed on them. We were redirected to another employee where we were given a receipt on the form which we filled up initially.
Finally we were given some service evaluation form which we filled up and dropped in the box meant for that purpose.
The whole process was complete in about 20 mins.
The finger print results reached BCIS in 2 working days and the status was updated in about a week.

Yeah..

same here. I had a second FP done this January. Get the address. Go at the time they recommend. The first officer will ask for an ID. A simple Drivers L is good. Then he hands you a form which talks about your eye color and other things. You hand the form back to the officer who will then tell you to go to the FP machine. Me and my wife both had an indian guy do the FP. It's really simple and the staff is good. Good luck.

Hi,
Thanks for your inputs. I have an appointment to give my FP on june 22nd @ 10:00 a.m. Could you guys tell me how much crowded that place?. Do I need to be there well before the appointment time to get into the INS office?. How difficult to get the parking space there ?. This INS office is located @ 40 minutes drive from my residence. Please advise me @ what time I should reach that location to get my FP done without any delay?

Thanks in advance.

Not sure about the parking availability in the vicinity, it *looked* a bit crowded. I live in the suburbs, so we took the MAX (http://www.tri-met.org .you can drive to a Park and Ride station if need be). Since mine was at noon, there were hardly any people in there. We just walked in. Of course, to accommodate unanticipated delays, we started early so we arrived early. So we walked around the streets a little and got in at the appointed time.

joondad,
Portland, OR comes under CSC for filing Immigration petitons. Tasks like FP will still be done at local ASCs.

Hi Joondad,

Hi Joondad,
Actually I am working as a consultant in Vancouver, Washington and my parent company is located in California, thats the reason why my I-140/I-485 have been filed with CSC. I thought that INS will send an FP notice @ Seattle INS office, because I live in Vancouver Washington. But they scheduled my FP in Portland, OREGON.

Thanks

joondad, My bad. You are correct. I guess it is because our company's headquarters is located in CA that our petitions have been filed at CSC.

Went for FP as per schedule in Portland, OREGON

Hi all,
My wife and myself went for 1st finger printing as per schedule. Luckily that place was not crowded and we were done within an hour. The INS FP representative took our finger printing and gave us the receipts. Could anybody tell me how long would it take for the FP results to reach the USBCIS and how long would it take to get it updated on the USCIS database ?. I hope my case status will get updated in this week.

Thanks
