I dont think it is a silly question, since I do think the whole thing is Last Name based....
The First letter of my last name is "W". most my friends, who have the last name "L" or "N" or something like that got their approval about 5-6 months earlier than me :<, even though we did our FP at the same time range.

I believe the Last name theroy very much

As the couple of persons with last name start Z recently approved if you have read this site last few weeks.

I know a peroson whose last name starts Z too and it took her 4+ years to get GC without LC. I have two friends Y and X (first letter in their last name) filed 485 in Sep and may 2001 and they have not got any news yet so far.

Congratulations!!!

Seems the last name is playing some role in the TSC processing quene. I have very similar case RD/ND with yours. I got approved recently and my last name starts Z. Too bad for us if the last name is a factor to delay our processing time! Bad last name, bad luck!

QixinZuo, my last name starts with "A"!

My I-485 RD/ND is 01/04/2002, no FP yet. It is really hard to tell what criteria TSC operates on. TSC has outside contractors to handle their mails, its mail facility and working facility are about 30 miles apart. In addition to that, it seems, TSC does NOT have any standard operating procedure AT ALL to handle the cases it is receiving everyday. So, TSC has a bunch of BIG problems and its management is doing NOTHING to correct its problems and streamline its
operations. Why TSC is behind about one year than any other service center in processing I-485 cases? Why National Schedular is messing up scheduling of FPs when it comes to TSC? The only logical explanation I can draw to this is TSC's management is screwed up BIG time. The problem is NOT the IIOs, the REAL problem is TSC's management, if it has one! TSC's management does not give a damn about our cases because we are foreigners. Folks, please remember, TSC handles southern division cases. So, it is all about so called DON'T-GIVE-A-DAMN attitude that TSC's management is exercising all over. And the politicians do not care to do anything about this, because we are foreigners so we can not vote, so why bother.

But your PD is this year!, about 8 months later than mine. If you wait for another 8 months and still can't get nothing, you are qualified to challenge this last name theory.
