Filed for I-485.

Hello,
I spoke with the immigraiton officer during the last week of December. As soon as I specified my receipt number, this is what she said, "It is going to take 8-9 months for your finger prints."
I asked her, "some of my friends have filed for I-485 couple of months ago and they are getting their finger prints done."
She said, "That is true, , but that doesn\'t make their GC processing faster than yours."
I asked her, "According to the new law one can change jobs after 180 days, but INS has not come up with rules and regulations, when can we expect that to happen?"
She said, "It is true that some people who have filed for I-485 are already changing jobs, but I wouldn\'t recommend that. Immigration officials are currently in Washington, I would expect INS to come up with rules and regulations sometime in January ( this month!! )"
P.S.
I have to say the immigration officer was very polite and took the time to answer my questions.
