Had a successful GC interview on 28th Oct with family (spouse and 2 children), sorry for posting it bit late.
It was very simple as indicated in this forum by most other members.
Questions asked were:
1.Name of the company?
2. Nature of Job?
3. Number of years in the US?
4. How long are you with the present employer?
5. Current Salary
6. Where do you live in US?
7. Where were you working before?
To my Spouse:
1. How long have your been married?
2. Place of marriage?
3. How long are you in US?
4. Which company do you work for? (spouse is on H1)
5. Since how long are you working for this company?
6. When did you visit US first time?
To my daughter (10 yrs old)
1. Are these your parents?
2. Which grade are you in?
3.Where to you live in US?
4. Do you like California? Why?
IO said he like california too, as he is from there. Then I asked from which palce, he replied "from LA".
He made my daughter to sign her form and also me to counter sign it.
After all this he said, "as I don't see any problem with your papers, your visas will be sent by courier in 2-3 days" do you have any questions"?
I asked about mix-up of dependendent names, for which he asked not to worry it would be as indicated in PP.
IO appeared to be a junior office, as for most of the questions he was clarifiying with another person.
Received visas by courier next day (29th) by 1.30 PM at Banglaore, but in my son's case his gender was incorrectly indicated. Again had to call up the consulate arrange immideatly arrange for DD and other docs, and rush to Chennai ( as our return date is on Nov 1st).
Just now submitted the request for correction, luckily they have agreed to give the papers in person by 4.30 PM today. Hope no new mistakes are made.
On the date of interview (28th) security didn't allow my son's shoes with blinking lights, so had to arrange for depositing the shoes and my son had to walk around without shoes in the consulate.
As indicated by other members donot carry Cell Phones, calculators, pagers, PDA, Floppy etc..
Most originals were returned after reviewing, they kept the copies, and kept the following originals:
Affidavit of support, employment verification letter, Bank a/c verification letter, asked for latest pay stub.
More later after reaching US.
