H4B Visa - Difficulties

Please post your experiences or any possible recourse that you may know of in this case. My sister (Indian National) applied for H4 visa after marraige since her husband is an H1B. Since she was born in Saudi Arab (father, an Indian National, works there as a Doctor in a saudi defense forces' hospital), the consular officer seemed quite apprehensive from the start. He also called her husband in the interview room. After questioning her on durations she had lived in Saudi, he noted that he will have to send her case for Administrative Check first. Her stay in Saudi was only during vacations and her education is from India. What happens now? What are the options she has?

One thing about applying for a US Immigrant or Non Immigrant Visa is, be truthful. They expect everyone applying for a Visa, to be decent,law-abiding and not be an unwanted or anti-social element, nor have any links with such kind of people/organizations.

Needless to say, even after above,it depends on luck ofcourse.

There is no reason to be apprehensive about administrative check. They might just check if the applicant(s) have any questionable past or links, etc.It is just a routine procedure.

If the check comes out clear, then it should be fine.

So, just wait and watch.

Good Luck.
