Hi - I am being offered a volunteer unpaid research/observership at a university affiliated medical center.. will there be any problems by accepting this? Can you please post links to official reference that describe this? For example, I found a link of upenn site that says it is okay to do volunteer work..
 
If someone else is hired with salary at the same position, doing the same job w/o authorization is not legal. Volunteering and working w/o payment are different.
