Hi,

I am getting married in Jan 2007. Is it important to change the name on the Passport to reflect my husband's Last name. I have heard that some times the counslate can trouble you of the name is not changed.
Some insight into this issue is highly appreciated.

-------- it is not must but Better do that and apply for new passport copy, you will need marriage certificate and affidavit
I have heard that some times the counslate can trouble you of the name is not changed.
-------------- Bombay US consulate needs husband name Endorsed so why not to get new passport copy with married name

Thanks a million for some insight, my next question is Can we book an appointment with my maiden name say ABC XYZ and then when I get married my new name would be LMN PQR, would that cause a problem, or should I first get married, change the name and then take appointment, the only problem in this case is time.
