H4 - Visa Stamping: Name on Passport

My wife is going to apply for H-4 visa soon. Is it necessary for her to have my name on her passport as husband or her father's name ( as it is on her current valid passport ) will work.

Anyone ever had this issue ?

It's not mandatory that your name should be there on your wife's passport, But some consulates ask for it. So check your consulates website.
