I am getting married next month and plan to bring my wife on H4 visa with me. Can anybody share their recent experiences in Delhi for H4 visa. The embassy keeps on changing the requirements very frequently. I found out that my name also needs to be endorsed in her passport. Since I am going there for a short time (about 2 weeks), does anybody have ideas on how to expedite the endorsement process with the passport office in Delhi. I would need to get it done in a day based on my schedule.

the procedure for entering spouses name in the passport is fairly simple:
- fill in an application form (available at the RPO) and submit it along with the fees, passport and marriage registration certificate at the passport office between 10 am and 12 noon

- they will return the passport with the spouses name endorsed on the same evening between 4 and 5.

Thanks for your reply. My fiance called up the RPO in Delhi ( thats where my fiance's passport is issued from ) and they told her that it would take 3-4 days to get the passport back with the endorsement.
Did you have experience with Delhi RPO or with some other RPO office? Also I wanted to find out if it was recently that you got this endorsement done .

I too shall be getting my passport endorsed at the the Delhi RPO later this month.

I have personally gone to the RPO and checked. They return the passport the same evening the application is filed. Maybe your fiancee should visit the RPO and speak to some officers. She will get a clearer picture.

Also, check the FAQs on the delhi consulate website. they have been revised and now mention that it is mandatory to endorse the spouses' name on the passport of the H4 applicant. So you don't really have much choice.

Thank you for your reply. Ya, I saw that message too on the Delhi consulate website. I actually called them up and they said they would update the site with the information. Atleast there is no uncertainity now.

HI all

I have a valid H1B visa stamped till January 2006. Following is my complete earnings during my stay in USA.

1.Year 2000-Landed in October in USA. showed only one month salary in my W2 form out of 2 months 24days stay in 2000 year.

2.Year 2001- Because of project got scraped I was on bench for 3 months. During this year I earned only 75% of salary (9 pay checks) mentioned on LCA. My employer (Big Fucker) did not pay me on bench so I earned only 75% of salary mentioned in LCA during 2001.

3. Rest of the years 2002,2003, current year are fine. Earning is more than the LCA amount.


I am afraid what happens if I apply for H4 visa in New Delhi for my wife. Can you gurus please clarify me following doubts?

1. what you guys think about my situation?

2. will they reject or issue H4 visa to guy like me?

3. Are there any body in same boat and got successful at New Delhi consulate?

Your help is appreciated. I am in total dilemma and could not able to plan anything. Please Help.....Help........Help................
 
endorsement of spouse's name

hi

got my spouse's name endorsed on my passport last week.

put in the application at the Delhi RPO at 11:00 a.m. alongwith the fee and copy of marriage registration certificate.

collected the passport with the endorsement at 4:30 p.m. same evening.

no problems whatsoever.
