H4 visa stamping in Kolkata from Chennai jurisdiction.

Hello,
I am going to India(Bangalore) in April/May and I have to get my H-4 stamped. I have my H-4 valid till July 15 2004 currently.
I tried getting a date in Chennai but could not find any date in April/May. Thought I will take the first available date, which is end of July and then modify it if I get any other earlier appointment but the website would not let me do that because my current H-4 expires in the middle of July.
So, I have taken an appointment in Kolkata on May 11th, 2005. I wanted to know how this will work out? Is it fairly easy to get the stamping from Kolkata for people from Chennai jurisdiction? Will they stamp H-4 for just 2 months? Do you have to prove an emergency?
My emergency is that I am going to be starting Residency on H-1 in mid-June. So, I have to be back in the US by then. But cannot come back on a H-1 coz its going to take atleat 1st or 2nd undefinedweek of June before my H-1 is processed.

You should be okay.One my frined and his wife had gone to kolkata consulate last month(Remember they are not the first time H1B and H4 people).It seems the interview went fine.The VO didn't ask any thing(Proof of emrgengy or ..any thing).Just 3 miniutes over.
