H4 Visa Stamping - H1 Expiring

Hi,

My current H1 expires on Jun 24th 2005 and my wife is attending H4 interview at Chennai Consulate. Do you see any problem with this since I have only 4 months left over on my H1? Of course my company is filing for extension, but we don't get either the receipt or new H1 before the appointment.

Hello Q,

Looks like nobody else in our boat. Anyway my wife has an appointment on Monday, so I will update the thread once I hear back.
 
I dont think that is a problem.. my friend had similar situation (he just had a month left in his visa) and he got H4 for his wife at mumbai consulate (newly wed / jan 2005).. so just go with all the required docs and you will be fine..

OK. The good news is today my wife got her visa. Of course we need to get the documents in courier, but she has been told that she got the vsia. So they did not create any problem.

Hey if you dont mind can you please give the list of documents needed for H4 ? and also can you tell what do they ask/check for inside the embassy ?
