H4 Visa issue problem

Hi All,

I am on H1B and currently in US and I applied for my wife's H4 (I-539) about 4 months ago...However I have'nt heard back from USCIS on the approval desicion. I have tried checking it online and the only status I get everytime is 'Case Received and Pending'. Now the problem is....

I want to transfer my H1 to another company ...Can I do it without my wife's H4 approval notice and apply for a new H4 through the new company? I also plan to apply for Green Card...would her H4 be needed to start the process?

How long the previous H-4 was valid? Well, there is no violation of status, as you applied for your wife's H-4 transfer. You can wait for her H-4 approval then file a H-4 transfer to your new employer.
