H4 visa in chennai consulate

Hello friends,
My marriage is in Oct'03 and my wife will go for H4 visa after that. So it will be first time H4 visa for her. Can she use the ttsvisas dropbox in Hyderabad or does she have to go to Chennai for personal interview. What is the appointment that we get in ttsvisas.com for?

Also is the endorsement of spouse's name on passport required for H4 visa in Chennai?

I guess , now they are not asking for spouse name endoresment in the passport.

Does any have got H4 visa recently from Chennai thru drop box. just for any idea on time for approval.

I heard one of my friend saying, if you got any query you will get response on one week otherwise will get stamped in 10days, is it right???
 
I dont think it is required for chennai. I know ppl who got it without endorsement in Dec 2002. But since it takes only half a day, if you have time you can do it.

Hello Friends,
Greetings. I have applied for H4 Visa for my wife at US Consulate in Chennai thru' TTServices on 2nd of May, 2003. On 14th of May, 2003 , They returned all of the paperwork including Passport except "Marriage Certificate and Pictures, copy of I-797 of the Spouse(H1B Copy) " with a note saying that " We are unable to issue visa at this time with a box checking saying that , This application in under Administrative Processing and once it is done we will contact you. " . We are still waiting for the reply from the consulate. Is it possible now to take help from the "Travel Agency " or What we can do to get the visa ASAP ?.

you are planning way ahead. i would suggest you to wait until July/August to see if they change policy regarding dropbox/interview. If they change policy and ask h1/h4 to go for interview then you need to schedule appointment online a month before the desired date. There is a possibility that they might allow h4 to use dropbox. i am just guessing though.
