Hi,
I am h1B visa; in my 3-year extension; so, my daughter are H4 visa-holder, so she is not eligible for Social Security number.
She is 17 and 12-grader, she wants to get a health career, so she is taken health-related courses in high school, one of these can let her be a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) when she finish the school. The problem is that in order she can take that course she should be registered by the Texas Department of Health / Nurse Aide Program, and they ask for SSN, without it she can get in.
I think, It's not fair, she is a good student and get good grades, and now we feel frustrated.
Is there any option to whom don't have SSN?
We had the same problem with our town college when she applied to take an examen to get dual-credit courses, but they understood and gave her a number instead the SSN in order she can take the test.
Thanks for any suggestion and help.
