H4 visa for spouse from Mumbai, with 1 month remaining on H1?

Hello Friends,

The situation:
I\'m getting married in Dec 2001
My 6-year H1 is expiring Jan 2002
My plan is to apply for 7th year H1 renewal on return to US with wife, after first applying for I485.


Question: Has anybody successfully applied for H4 at Mumbai with 1 month H1 remaining? Would a letter from my company confirming continued employment and that the 7th year extension is being applied help?

Your input is greatly appreciated...
 
Marriage close to H1 expiry. (7th year H1)

My situation is similar. The extended 7th year H1 expires end of Jan.
I have applied for another extension in nov (RD Nov26). Is it
safe to get married in Jan and obtain H4 for spouse?

I would like to know if i can get visa stamp in India for my 7th year H1B extension. And, can i get H4 for spouse if i get married there.

7th Yr Quick Stamping + Latest time- including spouse in GC processing

Hi Friends,
My 6Yr prd is ending in March 2002. I am in a dilemma to go to India now and get married. Bcos I am not sure whether they(consulate)would approve H4 for just 1 month. So, I am filing for I-485 so that I can get my H1-Ext for 7th Yr. I want to go to India at the earliest to get married. My questions are

  1. How can get the 7th Yr H1-Ext stamped on my passport quickly here in US? Now by mail, it takes about 6 weeks... Does anyone know how to get it stamped immeidately.

  2. What is the LATEST point in time, I can get my spouse included in my GC processing?

I appreciate any help in this regard.
