I have a H1 stamped on my passport valid until 1st Jan , 2007. My wife went to get her h4 on Nov 8th 2005 and she was approved, allright. However, when she got the passport the visa expiration date on it is 06 Dec 2005 ?? She actually intends to travel to USA in Feb 2006. Why would consulate have expiry date of 6 dec 2005 instead of same date as the principal h1-b applicant (Jan 2007) ? I have been working for same company for last 3 years so there are no transfers. Her visa stamping valid until 06 Dec 05, has the same SRC# as mine. The PED date is same. What's wrong with these consulate people in India ? Am I missing something or would I be correct to assume that the lady officer who approved her visa was nothing but smoking cracks ? More importantly what are my options now ? Should she apply for the visa again or it's just a typo ? The Idea of typo is amusing though .. Please anyone who may have faced this issue .. or may be aware of.. I will deeply appreciate if you can advise or share your two cents.
