Hoping to get married after filing I485 to take the advantage of including wife in AOS? Chennai Consulate is no longer a safe heaven for such H4 visas. Sounds like Chennai Consulate has adopted a new policy of pushing the H4 visa applications into the so called "Anti Fraud Bureau investigation" under the name of Administrative Processing. I am one among and I know few people who are going through that now. It is happening for those who are in US for more than 3 years and getting married now. Not sure what percentage of people are affected with it.

H4 visa on 4/2

I recently got married and my wife got her H4 visa on 4/2 in Chennai. I have been in the US for over 4.5 years now on H1B and am waiting for my 485 approval. So, I feel that > 3 year clause is not true. It\'s something else on your application which has made them to refer you to the additional processing.
 
how long did it take for your wife to get her H-4?

I am in a similar situation and am planning to get married and apply for an H-4 for my spouse.
