H4 visa and higher eduaction

I am a dependent on an H4 visa, and I am planning to attend an American University in the fall of 2005. I was wondering if I could attend school without changing my visa to F1? I am 17 years old and very confused. Is there any way to attend higher studies with an H4 visa?

as a dependant on H4 you can go to school full time or part time, without going on F1. In fact you might even get tution rebate and be able to pay instate fee depending upon state.institute policy (usually requires a year's worth of residence in state prior to school.

The only problem is that you cannot receive aid/assistantships etc. You may do volunteer work but cannot be paid for it as per the requirements of H4.

And once you get EAd(maybe through the spouse) u can swith top AOs and be able to work.
