H4 to H1B question

Hi there,

I am on H4 and I want to switch to H1B. If I find employer and it files my H1B let's say on April 1st, do I have to wait until October 1st to start working even after receiving employment authorization much earlier?

Yes, as the quota doesnt start until Oct 1st 07. USCIS accepts applications 6 months ahead of time.
