H4 to H1

Hi,

I came to US on 23 Nov 2006 on H4. I applied for H1 through an employer and my petition application is accepted and approved. The petition is valid from Oct 1, 2007.

I plan to travel to India in the month of Sep-Oct. If I come back before Oct 1, 2007 can I enter US based on the H4 stamping? What if I come after Oct 1, can I still enter US based on the H4 stamping?

I plan to travel to India in the month of Sep-Oct. If I come back before Oct 1, 2007 can I enter US based on the H4 stamping?
----------------if you have H4 valid visa then you can enter on H4(if your spouse is on H1 status) you will get I-94 based on H4 and will not be able to work on H1 status
What if I come after Oct 1, can I still enter US based on the H4 stamping?
---------------------YES, but will not be able to work on H1, if want to work on H1 then get H1 stamp and enter on H1 status.
